Life imprisonment for murder

Shivpuri, MP, July 31 (UNI) A district and sessions court has sentenced four people, including two brothers, to life imprisonment in a December 2003 murder case.

According to prosecution, the accused beat up Veni Prasad brutally on December 6, 2003 when he refused to do some work without being paid. Veni Prasad was admitted to hospital where he died while undergoing treatment.

The accused -- Ochhelal, Kallu, Ramjilal and Devilal -- belonged to Lodhi community, while the victim was a tribal.

Judge J K Srivastava delivered the verdict on July 29.
