Srinagar, July 31 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir government will consider the engagement of casual and daily labourers for infrastructure development works in the state, Deputy Chief Minster Muzaffar Hussain Baig today said.
Replying to the resolution moved by a Congress member Ghulam Rasool Kar in the Legislative Council, the matter would be discussed in the cabinet.
He said that under the existing recruitment rules there is due reservation for SC, ST, OBC and RBA.
Later, Mr Kar withdrew the resolution in which he had demanded that government should evolve a recruitment policy and issue guide lines so that the recruitment is made keeping in view the facts, that first priority should be given to those who have no source of income and do not possess any land and have not any government employee in their family.
The Deputy Chief Minister himself laid on the table of the house in Legislative Council a copy of the ''The Members, Presiding Officers, Ministers and Deputy Ministers Salaries and Allowance (Amemdment) Ordinance, 2006 (Ordinance No 1 of 2006).
