IIT Alumni Global Conference to be held in December 06

Mumbai, July 31 (UNI) The IIT Global Conference scheduled in Mumbai between December 23-25 was announced today by Rajat Gupta, the Senior Partner of McKinsey and Company Worldwide and Mastek Ltd.

Chairman Ashank Desai, who is also the Chairman of PanIIT 2006 Committee.

The President of India has already confirmed his presence while the Indian Prime Minister's confirmation for attending the Global Conference is awaited.

Rajat Gupta, as the Chairman, PanIIT US Inc is closely involved with the IIT Alumni 2006 Global Conference as an Advisory Board member who strongly feels for India, says,''I owe my success to the basic underlying philosophy of India and the years I spent at IIT.

Although based in US I come to India 5-6 times a year, and I am involved in contributing towards Education and Health sectors in the country.'' The IIT Alumni has the theme of ''Inspire IITians to involve and Transform India'', with the objective of nation building. During the three-day period, various topics like 'Building India into a knowledge economy,' 'Getting the governence you want', 'Learning from successful entrepreneurs'' etc. will be covered in a series of sessions with dedicated time for networking, entertainment and much more.

The Global conference is expected to draw 5,000 participants from across the globe and 1,000 have confirmed their attendence already.

The Advisory Board of the event includes very distinguished IITians such as Vindi Banga, R Gopalakrishnan, Shailash Mehta, Victor Menezes, Nandan Nilekani among others.
