HC declines to stay divisional commissioner's transfer

Allahabad, July 31 (UNI) Allahabad High Court today declined to interfere with the transfer order of divisional commissioner, Allahabad Dr Lalit Verma, who was recently transferred.

A division bench comprising Justices A K Yog and R K Rastogi passed this order after hearing state advocate general S M A Kazmi.

Kazmi supported the Uttar Pradesh government's stand, whereby the divisional commissioner was shunted.

HC lawyer Suvarna Singh had filed an application seeking the court's intervention and suitable action against the responsible officers, who in violation of HC order had transferred Dr Verma.

The petitioner had contended the divisional commissioner could not have been transferred without the court's permission.
