GTL June-Quarter'06 net at Rs 42.18 crore

Mumbai, July 31 (UNI) GTL Ltd has posted a net profit after tax of Rs 42.18 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2006 as compared to Rs 7.85 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2005.

Announcing the results, the company said its total income has increased from Rs 119.01 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2005 to Rs 144.90 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2006.

The Company has posted a net profit after tax of Rs 73.92 crore for 15 months period ended June 30, 2006, while the total income during the period is Rs 664.88 crore.

As per the Audited Consolidated results for the 15-month period ended June 30, 2006, the Group has posted a net profit after tax of Rs 105.26 crore while Total Income for the same period stands at Rs 990.10 crore.

The figures for the corresponding quarter of the previous year are regrouped / reclassified wherever necessary to make them comparable with that of the current quarter. The figures for the 15 months period are not comparable to the previous year, that being of 12 months.
