Goa introduces insurance cover for unorganised sector
Panaji, July 31 (UNI) The Goa Government today signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Life Insurance Corporation of India to mark the lunch of Sahara Welfare Scheme for families of the unorganised sector in Goa.
Mr N D Agarwal, Director of Social Welfare and Mr C Vikas Rao, Regional Manager (P&GS) LIC exchanged relevant documents after signing them in the presence of Social Welfare Minister Subhash Shirodkar.
The unique scheme provides insurance cover to the unorganized sectors in case of death of earning member of the family, besides financial assistance to their children to complete the education upto 12th standard under Siksha Sahayog Yojana.
