Fifth pay commission for Punjab soon: Amarinder
Sunam, July 31 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh today said his government will soon constitute the fifth pay commission for the state and it has already embarked upon the task of looking for its Chairman.
Talking to mediapersons here, after presiding over the function to commemorate the martyrdom day of Shaheed Udham Singh, Capt Singh said 65 out of 66 poll promises had been fulfilled except time-bound scale of 4-9-14 to government employees, which would also be implemented soon.
Asked to comment on the recommendation of the B R Bajaj Committee to raise the retirement age to 60 years from the current 58 years, the Chief Minister said his office had not received the report as yet and added that he would react when he officially saw it.
