Doc convicted for accepting bribes from patients

Thrissur July 31 (UNI) A former civil surgeon of the Ernakulam Government Hospital was today sentenced to 12 years rigorous imprisonment and slapped a fine of 75,000 on charges of graft.

Vigilance Commissioner and Special Judge P Q Berkathali sentenced Dr M R Gopalakrishnan for taking bribe from patients consulting him in 2000.
