Demand for restoring procession route

Hyderabad, July 31 (UNI) The All India Seerate-E-Zehra Committee today urged the city Police Commissioner to restore the Osmania University (OU) campus route for a procession of motor cars and bikes to celebrate the Jashan Moulood-e-Kaaba.

In a letter to the Commissioner, General Secrtary of the Committee Ali Raza said the Muslim community celebrated the Jashan Moulood-e-kaaba, the birth anniversary of great Imam of Islam Harzat Ali every year by holding a procession from Kotla Ali Jha to Koh-e-Moula Ali in Malkajgiri which passed through the O U campus.

He said due to an unfortunate incident in 1997, in which some anti-social elements attacked the processionists and a youth was killed, the police changed the route of the procession.
