CBCI plans consultations against anti-conversion law
New Delhi, July 31 (UNI) Catholic Bishops' Conference of India (CBCI) will organise an Interdenominational Consultation on Anti-Conversion Law across the country from next month.
The consultation process will begin in the national capital next week followed by meetings in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Gujarat, CBCI spokesperson Babu Joseph said.
Madhya Pradesh had recently enacted an anti-conversion law.
''We are taking a comprehensive look at the entire anti- conversion law. The states are making laws without giving a real consideration to the rights given in the Constitution,'' Dr Joseph said.
The consultation programme will be finalised in a meeting of church leaders here tomorrow.
