Britannia Q1FY07 net slips by 23 pc

New Delhi, Jul 31 (UNI) Britannia Industries Ltd today registered a 22.50 per cent drop in its net profit at Rs 30.3 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2006, as against Rs 39.1 crore for the corresponding period last year.

However, the company's total income increased by 27.23 per cent to Rs 4947 crore for Q1FY07, as compared to Rs 388.8 crore for Q1FY06.

Britannia Industries recently forged a strategic alliance with a Bangalore-based ''CCD Daily Bread Pvt Ltd'' engaged in manufacturing and retailing of premium breads, cakes and high end ready to eat foods and snacks.
