Border row: Kumaraswamy to take all-party delegation to PM
Bangalore, July 31 (UNI) Terming the border issue with Maharashtra a closed chapter, Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today said he would lead an all-party delegation to the Prime Minister on August eight to urge him not to allow that State to rake up the matter.
Addressing an all-party meeting on the issue here, he said he would demand that the Centre implement the Mahajan Commission report in toto.
Several speakers at the meeting urged the State Government to take action to promote Kannada in the border areas, besides declaring Belgaum as the second capital of the State.
Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, Home Minister M P Prakash and leaders of all parties took part in the meeting, held in the backdrop of Maharashtra leading a delegation to the Prime Minister in this regard recently.
