Book doctors who maim children for beggar mafia: MP

New Delhi, July 31 (UNI) Ms Ranjeet Ranjan (LJSP) today demanded deterrent punishment to the doctors involved in maiming of women and children at the instance of mafia gangs which make them beg on streets.

Raising the issue in Lok Sabha during Zero Hour, Ms Ranjan said the sting operation by a television channel which exposed the criminal offence had highlighted the need for a stringent law to check such crimes.

The victims of such crimes were mostly kidnapped by the mafia before getting them maimed by unscrupulous doctors, she said.
