Balrampur Q1 net up 63.5 pc at Rs 65.4 cr
Mumbai, July 31 (UNI) Kolkata based Balrampur Chini Mills Ltd(BCML) has posted a net profit of Rs 65.43 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2006 as compared to Rs 40 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2005, an increase of 63.5 per cent.
Announcing the results, the company said its total net revenue has increased from Rs 212.37 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2005 to Rs 383.67 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2006.
Cash earning per share also rose at 3.19 as compared to Rs 2.10 during the same period.
Commeting on the performance, Mr Vivek Saraogi MD, BCML stated,'' This resulted in higher number of crushing days across our facilities and therefore better performance. Our Akbarpur unit, which commenced operations in the previous season, in its very first sugar season crushed 76 lakh quintals of sugarcane producing 7.9 lakh quintals sugar at a recovery of 10.5 per cent.
The Company is implementing two new integrated greenfield projects at Kumbhi and Gularia in the Lakhimpur Kheri district of Central Uttar Pradesh adding up to 16,000 tonnes crushing day (TCD) and51 MW of co-generation power.The company's total distillery operations will be enhanced to 320 KLPD.The company is further implenting a 100 KLPD distillery unit at Mankapur unit, he added.
