Bahrain incident being probed, says Ahamed

New Delhi, July 31 (UNI) Bahrain Prime Minister Khalifa ibn Sulman Al Khalifa has ordered investigation into the fire incident in a labour camp in which sixteen Indians were killed and 11 injured, Minister of State for External Affairs E Ahamed told the Lok Sabha today.

Making a suo motu statement about yesterday's incident in the House, Mr Ahamed said the workers who were injured were hospitalised and later discharged.

The Minister said Bahrain Prime Minister Khalifa had visited the site yesterday and expressed his deep concern over the incident. He had assured that the injured and their families would be fully taken care of.

Mr Ahamed said the Indian Embassy in Bahrain was getting in touch with the Chief Secretary of Tamil Nadu with a view to establish contact with the relatives of the deceased for the despatch of the bodies.
