Anti-naxal squad continuing operation, beheaded body found
Nagpur, July 31 (UNI) The beheaded body of a youth was found at Karwapha jungle in the naxal-affected Gadchiroli district during a combing operation by the Special Anti-naxals Squad.
Around 168 supporters of the naxalites have been detained so far and action was taken against eleven of them during the operation conducted to counter the possible destructive action of the naxalites during their 'shahid saptah' (week) being celebrated from July 28, 2006 in the district.
Gadchiroli Superintendent of Police (SP) Shirish Jain said in an attempt to thwart naxal activities, peace march was being taken out in various Talukas and villages in the distrct which has been getting a good response from tribals.
The Bomb detection squad and police destroyed the ''Shahid memorials'' erected by naxals at Chichoda village, he added.
