AIADMK members evicted from House
Chennai, July 31 (UNI) Members of the Opposition AIADMK were en masse evicted from the Tamil Nadu Assembly today after they protested a remark made by Finance Minister K Anbazhagan against their Party Supremo and Leader of the Opposition J Jayalalithaa.
Ms Jayalalithaa, who wound up the debate on the revised Budget for 2006-07, had just left the House, when her colleagues staged the protest, plunging the House into utter chaos and forcing Speaker R Avudaiyappan to order their eviction.
The trouble arose while Mr Anbazhagan, replying to the debate on the Budget, charged that some people were bent upon stalling the ''two acre free land distribution scheme,'' when AIADMK Whip K A Sengottaiyan sought to intervene.
Refusing to budge, Mr Anbazhagan, referring to Ms Jayalalithaa, who had left the House, without waiting for his reply, said ''you can't intervene..the person who needs to talk has ran away,'' triggering loud protest from the AIADMK.
As all the AIADMK members, led by Deputy leader of the Opposition O Panneerselvam, were on their feet and demanded the Speaker expunge the remark made by Mr Anbazhagan, there was utter chaoes in the House.
When the Speaker turned down their plea, the AIADMK members, ignoring Speaker's repeated warnings, continued their protest, only to be evicted from the House.
