265 leave for Amarnath, 390 for Buddha Amarnath
Jammu, July 31 (UNI) A fresh batch of 265 pilgrims left this morning from here for darshan and puja of 'Ice Shivlingam' at the holy cave shrine in the Himalayas of Jammu and Kashmir.
Official sources said the batch, comprising 121 males, 47 females, 3 children and 94 sadhus, amidst chanting of religious hyms and slogans, was given a flag off at MA Stadium this morning.
Sources said a fleet of the pilgrims left in eight buses and two light motor vehicles under tight security arrangements.
Another batch of 390 pilgrims also left today for Buddha Amarnath pilgrimage at the border district of Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir on the fourth day of yatra.
Official sources said the batch, comprising 372 males and 18 females left in the fleet comprising 9 buses and one light motor vehicle at 0615 hrs.
