Organisation formed for developing villages in the country

Lucknow, July 30 (UNI) In order to step up development of villages, a new organisation called Progressive NGOs of Rural India(PNRI) has been formed to create innovative marketing stretegy and other systems.

National Productivity Council Director General Kamal Tavri would be the president of the organisation which will monitor the functioning of the NGOs and impart training to the rural youth for self-employment.

Addressing a press conference here today, Dr Tavri said managment skills were required by the youth in the villages rather than in the urban areas.

''Government grants alone cannot develop the villages. All should unite to make a consorted effort to fulfill the dream'', he said, adding only business model will work and not the grants.

Admitting though several NGOs have earned a bad name in society due to different reasons, but he still maintained that NGOs '' can serve the villages more fruitful than the government.'' He said PNRI would associate people from the villages including retired teachers, government employees and others to work for the overall development of rural India.
