Minor girl goes missing as rescue vessel capsizes

Sangli, Maharashtra, July 30 (UNI) A three-year-old girl child went missing after a boat engaged in rescue operation in the flood-hit Walva of this district capsized today.

The girl is identified as Shruti Satish Dhumal of Kota area in Walva, according to Walva sub-divisional officer Uttam Patil.

Mr Patil told UNI that the army jawans were ferrying some 16 flood-affected people (including jawans) to safer place in Walva, when the boat sank.

The jawans and others reached out safely, he added.
