Minister expresses concern on central scheme status in J'khand

Ranchi, Jul 30 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Communication and Information Technology Dr Shakeel Ahmed today said schemes being run by the Central goverenment were in bad shape in Jharkhand.

Talking with newsmen here Mr Ahmad said people in Jharkhand were facing problems as the state government failed to utilise the funds given by the Centre for proper implementation of developmental projects.

Expressing his views on the present political scenario in state, he said the state UPA leaders should review the the matter and formulate a strategy against the ruling coalition.

Mr Ahmad said the party leaders should also make a report and put it before the central leadership.

Earlier, addressing women party workers, Mr Ahmad said the party was of the view to provide 50 per cent reservation facility instead of 33 per cent.

He expressed concern over the cases of female fotecide and cited the example of Haryana and said there where 700 females against 1000 males in Haryana.

Members of telephone advisory committee (TAC) of state handed over a memorandam to the minister demanding improvement in telecommuniction services. The memorandum also demanded regularisation of line men working over a long time in the department.

On complaints from TAC members, Mr Ahmad also direcred the telecommunication officials to hold the meeting at a regular six months interval.
