Damoh BJP MP's daughter commits suicide

Jabalpur, July 30 (UNI) Damoh BJP MP Chandrabhan Singh's daughter today committed suicide by hanging herself from ceiling fan of her house at Rite Town in this district, police said today.

City Superintendet of Police Siddarth Choudhary said Mr Singh's house had informed police this afternoon that the MP's 19-year-old duaghter Deepika Singh was missing from house.

Later, Mr Singh came to Jabalpur and police searched their house and found that the last room was locked. On breaking the lock, Deepika's body was found hanging from the ceiling fan. A suicide note was found in the room.

Deepika wrote that she not secured enough marks in B Com Ist year examination. She contacted Dheeraj Chandwani to get her marks increased. However, he promised to do so if she married him.

After Deepika married Dheeraj in Nagpur, Deepak's father Suresh Chandwani, sister Manisha and three other people started harassing her for Rs 10 lakh dowry compelling her to commit suicide.

Dheeraj is absconding.
