Belgaum geared up to face floods

Hubli, July 30 (UNI) The Belgaum district administration is totally geared up to deal with the flood situation in the district.

Official sources told UNI that following heavy rains in Maharashtra and release of over 8,000 cusecs of water into river Krishna from Koyna dam, all precautions have been taken by the administration in the taluks of Chikodi, Athani and Raibag.

Meanwhile, the sources clarified that the flood situation in Gokak town was totally under control. Waters of swollen Ghataprabha river were flowing below the danger mark near the town.
