Asia's biggest slum named after Anjaiah: AP CM

Hyderabad, July 30 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today announced that Adda gutta basti, known as Asias biggest slum was named after G M Anjaiah, who strove all his life for the betterment of the lives of the slum dwellers.

Speaking after unveiling the statue of Anjaiah, the Chief Minister said Anjaiah's services for the improvement of the slums in the State capital were memorable. The great social worker had sacrificed everything for the poor, he added.

Dr Reddy also said Anjaiah was instrumental in the development of Adda gutta, Asias biggest basti and hence the Government had decided to name it after him.
