10 yrs' RI for drug peddler

Neemuch, MP, July 30 (UNI) A special court today sentenced a drug peddler for 10 years' rigorous imprisonment for smuggling opium and fined him Rs one lakh.

According to prosecution, Rajasthan-resident Bhopraj Tank was arrested on April 16, 2001 while smuggling five kg opium. A case was registered against him under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.

Judge Anupam Srivastava delivered the verdict yesterday.
