'Security breach at PM's residences a concern'

Lucknow, Jul 28: Samajwadi Party general secretary and Rajya Sabha member Amar Singh today expressed his concern over the security breach at Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's residence last night in which a car had managed to enter into the security zone.

''Yesterday's incident at the PM house in New Delhi was a serious one and the country should be relieved that the vehicle was not carrying terrorists,'' he said.

Talking to mediapersons on the sidelines of the state level foodprocessing seminar here, Mr Singh said it was certainly a breach of security of the PM and anything could have happened.

Commenting on the conflicting statements between the Union Home Ministry and SPG over the incident, the SP leader said it proved the lack of coordination between the departments at the centre.

Referring to controversial book written by BJP MP Jaswant Singh about the mole in the PM's secretariat, Mr Singh said it was just a 'political gimmick' and was made to publicise the book.

''Everyone knows that mole in the PM's secretriate has been a known thing and thus disclosing it was only to publicise the issue,'' he said adding that both Mr Jaswant Singh and Prime minister Manmohan Singh were members of the Rajya Sabha and BJP leader was occupying the seat left by the PM.
