Security lapse at Prime Minister's residence
New Delhi, Jul 27: In a major security breach, three youths in a car managed to reach the main gate of the Prime Minister's residence this evening.
The trio, two girls and a boy, driving a black-coloured Sonata managed to reach the main gate of the PM's residence at 7, Race Course Road while a Cabinet meeting was on there, according to sources.
The youths, who were said to be in inebriated condition, said they wanted to meet the PM, but after being told by the Special Protection Group (SPG) personnel that was not possible, they returned.
The girls, hailing from Jaipur, are air hostesses with Air Sahara.
However, the police later caught hold of them and took them to Ram Manohar Lohia hospital for a medical examination.
This was a major security lapse as there are several layers of the security cover which one has to pass through before reaching the main gate of the PM's residence.
Investigations are on.
