Batch of 617 yatris leaves for Amarnath shrine

Jammu, Jul 28: About 617 pilgrims today left for darshan of 'Ice Shivlingam' at holy cave shrine in the himalayas.

Official sources told sources that the batch, comprising 365 men, 51 women, 2 children and 199 sadhus, amid chanting of religious hymns and slogans, was given a warm flag off at MA stadium in the morning.

The sources said the pilgrims left in the fleet of 20 vehicles, including 14 heavy and six light vehicles, under tight security.
