Talathi arrested while accepting bribe of Rs 1000
Beed, Maharashtra, July 25 (UNI) Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths today caught red-handed a talathi while accepting a bribe of Rs 1000 from a farmer at Kaij town in this district.
ACB sources said acting on a tip-off, the ACB team, led by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Govardhan Kolekar, laid a trap and arrested Anant Rambhau Gawali while accepting Rs 1000 as bribe money from Ramdhan Annasaheb Sonwane near Shani Temple at Kaij.
Gawli had agreed to provide Sonwane with documents pertaining to the registration of a well in his farm, the sources said.
The talathi has been booked under sections 7, 13 (1) and 13 (2) of the ACB act, the sources added.
