Sri Lanka thrashes hosts India 72-23
Bangalore, July 25 (UNI) Defending Champions Sri Lanka proved their supremacy thrashing hosts India 72-23 in the league matches (Group B) of the Fifth Asian Youth Girls Netball Championship here today.
Enabled with a superb finishing by Goal Attacker Gishanthi Jayakody and Vice Captain Iresha Koralagodage, the three-time Champions took the lead right from the first quarter (17-8).
In the second quarter, the hosts could add only four goals while the visitors struck 14 (31-12). In the third quarter, they established an unassailable lead (44-19) over the struggling Indian eves.
For the losers Captain Preethi Banchhor (12) and K P R Monalisa Reuben (11) were the scorers.
