Ramadoss urges judicial probe in farmhouse issue

Chennai, July 25 (UNI) Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) founder leader Dr S Ramadoss today urged the DMK Government to order a judicial probe into the ''Sridhavur farmhouse issue'' to bring out the truth and initiate action based on the findings of the probe.

In a statement here, he said a probe was necessary in the wake of reports that the farmhouse was built, after forcibly taking over the lands belonging to local dalits by those who were close to Ms Sasikala, friend of former chief minister J Jayalalithaa.

As Ms Jayalalithaa had denied that the farmhouse was neither owned by her nor Ms Sasikala and refused to give details of the owner of the farmhouse and the rent she paid, when she had stayed in the house, the government should order a probe and bring out the truth.

Till such time, Ms Jayalalithaa should volunteer to return the 53 acres of land to the dalits and seek remedy for one of the ''biggest land frauds'' that had taken place during her previous regime.

He said when she tried to purchase the government TANSI lands, the Supreme Court had directed her to seek remedy, by returning the lands to the government. Before any court or inquiry commission passed similar directives, Ms Jayalalithaa should return the lands, the PMK leader suggested.
