Prince discharged from hospital
Kurukshetra, July 25 (UNI) Five-year-old prince, who survived a 50-hour ordeal in the bottom of a 60-feet well, was discharged from the LNJP Hospital here today.
Prince was discharged at about 1800 hrs from the hospital where he was recuperating since Sunday night after being rescued by the army from the submersible tubewell borehole into which he had fallen on Friday evening.
''He is hale and hearty. He is eating fine and is much relaxed now,'' said D S Saini, CMO, Kurukshetra.
''He has shown remarkable resilience in recovering from the trauma. Though he was a bit terrified when he came here and even howled last morning after being mobbed by the mediapersons, he showed fast recovery after access to him was restricted,'' Dr Saini added.
''We did give him a drip and sedatives initially but now he can well do without them. We have, however, instructed the family to be in touch about his progress. They have been asked to bring him back for re-examination after three days,'' said paediatrician Dr Jagmal Singh, who led the battery of doctors taking care of the child hero.
He had bruises all over his body, especially on the legs but thorough investigations confirmed that he suffered no major bone or muscle injury, he added.
The frail five-year-old son of a labourer couple, looked happy today playing with a heap of toys and balloons sent by hordes of wellwishers.
Earlier in the day, Haryana Chief Secretary Prem Prashant visited the hospital to get first hand infomation about his health. He gifted him toys and fruits.
''A force, equipped with all modern safety equipments, will be raised in the State to take immediate action at times of disasters or calamities such as the one at Haldehri village,'' Mr Prashant told mediapersons after enquiring about the well being of Prince.
