New traffic plan for Connaught Place comes into effect

New Delhi, July 25 (UNI) The Delhi Traffic Police today introduced a new 'Traffic Circulation Plan' for Connaught Place here to facilitate movement for motorists and commuters.

The basic idea is to discourage motorists from using Rajiv Chowk and Indira Chowk as a transit route which unduly congest traffic flow, according to the Traffic Police.

As per the new plan there will be two entry points through radials from outer to inner circle and two exit points from inner to outer circle.

While entry will be from Janpath and State Entry Road Radial, exit would be from Baba Kharak Singh Marg and Radial opposite Hotel Narula.

Now onwards, Minto Road Radial would be closed for traffic. This Radial along with Bara Khamba would be used for parking.

There will be no parking on Janpath and State Entry Road Radial and on Baba Kharak Singh Marg and Radial opposite Hotel Narula.

Necessary traffic signages and boards have been displayed for convenience of motorists and commuters.
