Murder suspect dies after returning from police station
Hyderabad, July 25 (UNI) Tension prevailed at Santoshnagar near here this evening, following the death of a murder suspect in a hospital after coming from Santoshnagar police station.
The family members and local MLAs alleged it as a custodial death and staged a dharna in front of the police station.
Police said Shaik Ali Pasha (50) of Riyasatnagar, who had rented an auto to one Sardar Ali (60) of DB Shah Colony, along with his son Mazhar assaulted Ali on July 21 for failing to give rent on line.
On the same evening, the Santoshnagar police picked up Pasha and questioned him in connection with the murder of Sardar Ali.
The relatives alleged that Pasha, who came back from the police station today became unconscious at his residence.
He was taken to Osmania General Hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment. The relatives alleged that Pasha died due to the brutal harrasment by the police.
Meanwhile, the Majlis Ittehedul Muslimeen (MIM) MLAs Akbaruddin, Mumtaz Ahmed Khan, Pasha Quadri and Mauzham Khan visited the hospital and later joined the dharna demanding the government to take action against the police personnel.
