Man nabbed for killing 9-month-old daughter
Aurangabad, Maharashtra, July 25 (UNI) MIDC-Cidco police here today arrested a 40-year-old man on the charge of killing his nine-month-old girl late last night.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Cidco Division, Navin Chandra Reddy said Manik Shinde was caught following a complaint lodged by his wife in this connection.
Manik's wife had delivered twins nine months ago, of whom one was a boy and the other a girl.
The accused, an alcohol addict, was not happy with the birth of the girl and took the infant forcibly away from his wife and threw her down in a fit of anger late last night. The infant fell unconscious and died on the spot. The accused then allegedly buried the infant at a nearby temporary shed.
The police later recovered the body from the burial spot and sent it to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for post-mortem, Mr Reddy said and added the police has referred the case to the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM).
