Housewife fell in well and rescued in Bengal

Purulia, Jul 25 (UNI) A 45-year-old house wife was rescued after she fell into a 40-foot deep well in West Bengal's Purulia district today, police said.

Geetarani Das of Dorjipara of this town accidentally slipped down to the water filled well when she went there to clean her after answering nature call at the wee hours today. Before her fall her yell woke up neighbours, who retrieved her after about thirty minutes. Firemen were also called to rescue her.

Witnesses said she was lucky as the well was full of water due to monsoon rain in this drought prone area.

Later she was admitted to a local hospital where she recovered quickly.
