Four 'robber policemen' suspended

Gadag, July 25 (UNI) Gadag Superintendent of Police has suspended four police constables pending inquiry for allegedly swindling a businessman in the town.

According to a complaint lodged with the police by the businessman, the four cops came in a car to his shop and took him in the car to a place near police station on June 20. The constables accusing the businessman of involving in Matka gambling demanded Rs.

6000 from him for not booking a case.

When constables found that the businessman had no money to pay, they beat him up and saw to it that he sold his gold ring for Rs.3000 and took the money, Mr Manjunath alleged in the complaint.
