Employees stage dharna

Rajahmundry, July 25 (UNI) More than 100 employees of the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC), affiliated to Employees Union (EU) today staged a dharna in front of the depot here demanding revised salaries.

The agitators alleged that the National Mazdoor Union was not serious about the revision in wages.

They said the management failed to implement the compassionate employment scheme to the kith and kin of the deceased employees.

"It was unfortunate that the minister stated that only five per cent enhancement would be effected that too from this year when the agreement was for 20 per cent increase from April 2005," they alleged.

Employees Union Depot Secretary K N Rao and Regional Secretary S Nageswara Rao spoke on the occasion.
