Cognizance against eight electrical engineers

Patna, July 25 (UNI)-Special Vigilance Judge of Patna, Ram Niwas Prasad, today took cognizance in a case of electricity theft against 11 people including two superintendents, one executive officer, two assistant and three junior electrical engineers.

The designated judge took cognizance in the case under the various sections of Indian Penal Code, Indian Forest Act, Mines and Mineral Act and Prevention of Corruption Act.

The case was related to the theft of electricity by owners of two stone crusher units and properietor of a roadside hotel of Rohtas district in connivance with the official of electricity department, causing loss of more than crores of rupees to the department from 2000 to 2002.
