ATS arrests two more in 7/11 blasts case
Mumbai, July 25 (UNI) Two more suspects in the July 11 serial blasts case -- Sohail Sheikh and Zahir Ahmed Sheikh -- were arrested by the Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) today.
ATS sources said Sohail Sheikh, hailing from Pune, and Zahir Ahmed Sheikh from Mumbai were detained by the crime branch sleuths three days ago for questioning and were formally arrested by ATS this morning.
According to investigations, Sohail allegedly visited Pakistan in 2003, while Zahir visited the neighbouring nation last year.
The duo is alleged to have undergone weapons' and explosive training there.
ATS also said Dr Ansari, who was arrested on Monday, was instrumental in sending Zahir to Pakistan via Tehran. Also, Zahir allegedly played a vital role in transporting RDX and other weapons from Ratnagiri to Aurangabad in May this year.
Further investigations are on and the duo would be produced before a metropolitan court in Mazgoan tomorrow.
