Airtel launches fixed wireless phone 'Airtel Mega' in J
Jammu, July 25 (UNI) India's leading telecome service provider, Airtel today launched 'Airtel Mega', a first ever fixed wireless home phone (FWP) service, availale in post and prepaid schemes, in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
''The company will cover 52 towns and non-towns within a span of one month of launching the service in the state and will operate on GSM network with 24 hours customer care faclity everyday,'' Bharti Airtel chief operating officer (mobility) RBS Bhullar told media persons here on launching of service.
He said the company is offering Economy plan of Rs 250, fixed plans of Rs 500 and 1000 and One India plan of Rs 299 to its customers under the postpaid plans. The call charges for Local and Intra-circle under the economy plan and fixed plan and One India plan would be Rs 1.20, 1.10 and Re one respectively for three minutes with a pulse rate of 60 seconds resulting in effective rate of Rs 40 paise per minute, he added.
Mr Bhullar said the customer would have option of taking postpaid plan through two types of connections from Telian FGD 8900 and Telular SXGP 300G/CSI 910 with initial cost of Rs 1500 and 1800 which include cost of telephone set and refundable security amount.
He said the entry to prepaid plan would be on payment of Rs 2000 as activation charges which will also include a free airtime of Rs 600.
Besides this, Airtel will offer to its customers host of value added services on the connection such as Pan India coverage, Hello Tunes, Caller ID and SMS, he added.
