Rains continue to lash Saurashtra
Rajkot, July 24 (UNI) With rains continuing to lash most parts of the Saurashtra region since the last three days, standing kharif crops have got a new lease of life in the third wet spell.
The Kutch region received moderate to heavy rainfall. Khavda, a barren part of the Kutch, was also lashed by heavy downpour, a report from Bhuj said.
Khavda area recorded 175 mm of rainfall in the last 12 hours, while Rapar, Abadasa, Mandvi received 50 mm of rainfall each.
Nani Barar of Maliya-Miyana taluka of Rajkot district recorded 200 mm of rainfall in just four hours, flooding the village, report said.
Though sky over Rajkot city by and large remained cloudy today, there was no rainfall till 1830 hrs.
Reports of light to moderate rains were also received from some parts of Surendranagar, Porbandar, and Junagadh districts.
