TN Govt urges Centre to ensure no delay in final award

Chennai, July 22 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu government today urged the Centre to ensure that there was no further delay in pronouncing the final award of the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal.

Presenting the budget for the year 2006-07, Finance Minister K Anbazhagan said all the states concerned had already placed their arguments before the Tribunal.

Tamil Nadu had also filed its response on the report of the Assessors, he said and urged the Centre to ensure that the final verdict was pronounced at the earliest.
