Robbery attempt foiled, 4 arrested

Mumbai, July 22 (UNI) The MRA Marg police have foiled an attempt to rob a shop at Bhatia baug in South Mumbai with the arrest of four people.

Acting on a tip-off that a group of five people would be coming to Bhatia Baug to rob a shop, the police laid a trap at about 1730 hrs yesterday and foiled their attempt by arresting them.

Hoevever, one of them managed to escape.

Those arrested have been identified as Shashikant Raju Shetty (26), Samsudhin Basir Ahmed Sheikh (36), Sadashiv Ramlu Bhima (28) and Yusuf Qureshi (25). The fifth one Pramod alias Prem managed to escape from the spot.

The police have registered a case of attempt to robbery and further investigations are on, police said.
