Mohun Bagan to participate in Manchester United Premier

Durgapur, July 22 (UNI) Mohun Bagan Athletic Club will play the Manchester United Premier Cup World Finals, in the under-15 football segment, scheduled from August 8 to 11, at Carrington in England.

Nearly 20 teams will take part in the competition, out of total 8000 teams from five continents.

The tournament was organised by Nike as a regional tournament in 1993 with participants from 15 countries.

At present, the under-15 Mohun Bagan Athletic Club, the only team from South Asia to be participating in the tournament, is training at Mohun Bagan SAIL Football Academy, Durgapur, under coach Shyamal Banerjee.

Mohun Bagan SAIL Football Academy was inaugurated here yesterday.

The academy has started with 47 budding footballers.
