Lawyers' strike enters 25th day
Jammu, July 22 (UNI) The indefinite strike of lawyers, demanding the transfer of the high-profile sex scandal case to Jammu from Srinagar, entered its 25th day today.
The lawyers, who started the indefinite strike on June 28 against the denial of right to defence and threats issued to lawyers in Srinagar while representing their clients, remained absent from courts today.
The lawyers have been demanding that the sex scandal case be tried in any court outside the Kashmir valley. The protests have hit the work in the high court and other subordinate courts of the state.
