Bus services in Manipur to stop from tomorrow

Imphal, Jul 22 (UNI) All passenger bus service operators of Manipur have decided to suspend services from tomorrow as they could not meet the monetary demands from militants in Nagaland.

The services from Imphal to Guwahati via Kohima and Dimapur would be affected due to the suspension.

All Manipur Inter-State Bus Association president A Budha said here today ''The militants collect money from the vehicle owners and counters selling tickets,'' Mr Budha added.

Everyday more than 100 passenger vehicles ply on the Imphal-Guwahati sector and the suspension would seriously affect services as there is no rail head in the state and people depend on roads for transport and communication.
