Atwal tied 39th, Chopra tied 27th in BC Open
Endicott, New York, July 22 (UNI) Arjun Atwal made his second successive cut after carding a level-par score to be tied 39th, while Daniel Chopra shot a one-under 71 to share the 27th spot after the second round of the three million dollar BC Open at the Atunyote Golf Course here.
Chopra fired a birdie more than Atwal to go under-par and total five-under 139 after two days. Atwal, meanwhile, also put up a creditable performance firing two birdies and an equal number of bogeys to make the cut in the event.
The Orlando-based Indian was one-over at the halfway mark after he bogeyed the fourth but put up a slightly better performance in the back nine as he fired a brace of birdies on the ninth and 10th.
However, he missed the chance to be under-par after dropping a shot on the 16th. Atwal has accumulated a two-day total of four-under 140.
Meanwhile, the Indian-born Swede Chopra also hit two bogeys on the 11th and 18th but three birdies on the first, third and 12th bailed him out as he ended the day a shot ahead of Atwal.
At the top of the leaderboard, Swede Gabriel Hjertstedt (134) shot a second successive five-under 67 to be the tied leader with American Scott Gump and Japanese Daisuke Maruyama.
