54 Punjabis from Lebanon reach home
Amritsar, July 22 (UNI) Fifty-four Indians, belonging to Punjab, who were rescued by the Indian Navy from war-torn Lebanon, arrived here today.
A special Indian Airlines flight brought them home from New Delhi.
Earlier, they were flown to Mumbai from Syria by an Air India flight.
All of them, who belonged to various parts of Punjab were working in Lebanon. These 54 included two women and three children. Deputy Commissioner Kirandeep Singh Bhullar received them at the Raja Sansi airport here.
The district administration had requisitioned 25 cars and one bus to take them to their homes. They were in the first batch of Indians who were pulled out of Lebanon.
