5 MP roads cleared under BOT scheme

Bhopal, Jul 22: Five roads in Madhya Pradesh, measuring 644 km will be constructed at a cost of Rs 1465.44 crore under the BOT scheme.

The construction of these roads was cleared by the Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation's Board of Directors meeting, presided over by Chief Minister S S Chouhan here yesterday.

The roads are: Chandpur-Alirajpur-Kukshi-Badwani road, Matkuli-Tamia-Chhindwara road, Mandsaur-Sitamau road (upto Rajasthan border), Sehore-Dewas road and Lebad-Mandsaur-Neemuch-Nayagaon road.

Detailed project reports of a few roads measuring 314 km are under preparation, Corporation's Managing Director Mohammad Suleiman said, adding that work on 17 Asian Development Bank-funded roads, measuring 1270 KM had been started. The total cost of these roads comes to Rs 734.56 crore. The construction of the Sagar-Damoh-Jabalpur road would also be speeded up, he added.
